Basketball coach Ato Tolentino passes away
Champion basketball coach Loreto "Ato" Tolentino passed away. He was 75.
Tolentino's son, Marikina City councilor and MPBL coach Elvis Tolentino, announced the passing of his father on Sunday.
"I love you, daddy," Elvis wrote on his personal Facebook account.
Coach Ato was a former PBA player and was the coach of the Philippine Christian University when the Dolphins won their lone NCAA title in 2004. He also had a successful stint coaching the University of Manila, his alma mater, in the National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU).
Colegio de San Juan de Letran's Kyle Tolentino also remembered how his grandfather supported him.
"You believed in me when I didn't believe in myself, you believed in me when no one else did. I love you, Lo. No more pain," Kyle wrote on his Instagram story on Sunday.
