June Mar Fajardo dedicates Asian Games gold medal to late mom

After making history as Gilas Pilipinas reclaimed the Asian Games gold medal in men's basketball after 61 years , veteran big man June Mar Fajardo dedicated it to his late mother Marites.

Fajardo on Thursday posted a photo of his medal together with the grave marker of his late mom.

"Gold medalist na akong Mama," Fajardo wrote on the caption of his post. "Wish I could put this medal around your neck Ma!"

The six-time PBA Most Valuable Player was also part of the Gilas team which competed in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

June Mar's mom passed away in 2021 .
