Chot Reyes proud of Gilas Pilipinas' Asian Games gold

Former Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes took to social media his pride as the national team took home the Asian Games gold medal in men's basketball after 61 years.

Reyes on Instagram posted a photo of him after the Philippines took down Jordan in the finals, 70-60 .

"So, so proud of Coach Tim and the entire team," Reyes wrote on the caption of his post.

Tim Cone was part of the Gilas coaching staff which Reyes handled in the recent 2023 FIBA World Cup where the Philippines finished 24th .

Reyes stepped aside from head coaching duties after the Philippines' campaign in the World Cup.

Former national team members also took to social media their support for the Gilas squad .

This is the Philippines' first Asiad gold in basketball since 1961 and the fourth gold medal in this year's edition after EJ Obiena , Meggie Ochoa , and Annie Ramirez .
