Gilas Pilipinas falls to Jordan, RHJ to face Qatar in Asian Games 2023 QF qualifiers

Gilas Pilipinas fell to Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and his Jordan squad, 87-62, to wrap up their group stage matches in the 19th Asian Games on Saturday in Hangzhou, China.

The national team recovered and cut its deficit to just seven, 59-52, after trailing 42-29 by halftime.

However, Gilas was limited to just 10 points in the final frame as Jordan pounded with 28 points to take the win.

Hollis-Jefferson posted 24 points while Fadi Mustafa had 17 points for Jordan.

Brownlee had 24 points, while Scottie Thompson chipped in 11 points, making the two of them the only double-digit scorers for the nationals.

Gilas finished second in Group C with two wins and one loss and will proceed to the qualification for quarterfinals where they will face Qatar.
