Former ONE bantamweight world champion John Lineker gave Stephen Loman his first loss in ONE Championship following a unanimous decision nod over the latter this Saturday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Lineker pressured right off the bat throwing punches to the head and body with bad intentions. Loman then went for a takedown and unleashed his ground and pound before pinning his foe to the side of the cage to throw some more.
Loman invested in kicks to the leg and body while on their feet. He also started to throw his left straight on top in round two, landing some while keeping his distance to avoid Lineker's dreaded punching power.
As cautious as he is, Loman still had a taste of Lineker's power when he ate a big left hook in round two that stunned him. Both fighters exchanged attacks in round three until the action was briefly stopped when Lineker took an accidental kick to the groin.
Loman opted to mix it up until the final bell, throwing strikes along with takedown attempts that were all stopped by Lineker. After three five-minute rounds, all three judges saw the fight for Lineker improving his record to 37-10.
