Nesthy Petecio says Asian Games may be her last shot to Olympics
Filipino Olympic silver medalist and boxer Nesthy Petecio will give her all in the upcoming 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China as this may be her last shot to another Olympic stint.
The 31-year old Petecio emphasized the importance of this upcoming stint during a send-off for the Asian Games-bound athletes on Monday.
"Sobra, sobrang halaga'to sa akin kasi iniisip ko baka last shot ko na 'to eh. Hindi tayo bumabata, tumatanda rin tayo. Ang dami-dami na ring nararamdaman," she told reporters.
(This is very important for me because this may be my last shot. I'm not getting any younger. We're aging. I'm feeling some things.)

Still, Petecio said she will dedicate her campaign to her family, loved ones and partner, to the late ABAP president Ed Picson, and to herself.
"Last Tokyo, para sa pamilya 'yun. This time naman, para sa sarili ko naman."
(Last Tokyo Olympics was for my family. This time, it's for myself.)
Petecio will compete in boxing women's 57 kg division in the Asiad.
