Latvia routs Lithuania to finish 5th in FIBA World Cup
Latvia took down Lithuania, 98-63, on Saturday in the classification round to finish fifth overall in the 2023 FIBA World Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Latvia relied on a strong third quarter as they outscored Lithuania, 28-9, to claim a 30-point lead, 77-47, by the end of the frame.
Art?rs Kurucs posted 20 points while Rolands Šmits had 17 points as Latvia finished with six wins and two losses.
Rokas Jokubaitis registered 16 points while Jonas Valanciunas had 15 points and eight rebounds for Lithuania which also finished with six wins and two losses.
Earlier, Slovenia beat Italy, 89-85, to finish seventh.
On Sunday, Team USA and Canada will go against each other for the third place, while Germany and Serbia will battle for the Naismith Trophy in the finals.
