Paolo Banchero happy for USA's win against Italy

Paolo Banchero said he was happy for Team USA to win against Italy.

According to reports, Banchero had a verbal commitment to play for Italy in the World Cup before he eventually ended up playing for the United States.

Banchero posted eight points, five rebounds, and two assists.

"It was very fun getting out there, playing in a high competitive quarterfinal game," Banchero said on Tuesday after their 100-63 win against Italy which secured them a slot in the semifinals.

"I’m happy we got the win and we get to move on to the semifinals."

The win came after their loss to Lithuania last Sunday in the second round.

"We took a tough loss in the last game, felt like we didn’t play up to our standards on the defensive end, so we just want to come out and make a statement on defense and if we do that, it’s gonna propel our offense."

Team USA will wait for the winner of the match between Germany and Latvia.
