Jovic, Bogdanovic star anew as Serbia sweeps Group B with rout of South Sudan
The duo of Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nikola Jovic once again took over the scoring cudgels as Serbia swept Group B with a convincing 115-83 victory against South Sudan in the 2023 FIBA World Cup on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Jovic churned out 25 markers on perfect 9-for-9 shooting, including 5-for-5 from three while the 31-year-old Bogdanovic also caught fire to finish with 23 points, nine assists, two rebounds, three steals.
Big man Nikola Milutinov also made his presence felt on the paint with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.
The Serbians finished the first round with a perfect 3-0 slate after beating China and Puerto Rico as well to advance to the second round while South Sudan dropped to 1-2.
