Gilas Pilipinas' Japeth Aguilar is protecting the rim on his home floor.

In the first quarter of the Philippines' crucial game against Angola, Aguilar showed his rim protection prowess as he stuffed a drive by Angolan guard Dimitri Maconda.

The two teams are fighting for their lives in Group A both with 0-1 records in the standings, trailing behind Dominican Republic (2-0) and Italy (1-1).

Gilas lost their opening day game to Dominican Republic, 87-81 , while Angola was defeated by Italy, 81-67 .

Angola led the Philippines, 36-33, at the half.
