Filipinas rise to no. 44 in FIFA world rankings

The Philippine national women's football team Filipinas climbed to no. 44 in the FIFA women's world rankings released on Friday.

The development came after the historic campaign of the women's team in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

This is the highest ranking achieved by the team.

During the World Cup, the Philippines lost to Switzerland during their debut, followed by a win against New Zealand, and another loss to Norway.

The Filipinas are expected to compete in the Asian Games in China and the second round of the Olympic qualifiers, under their new head coach Mark Torcaso.
