Anthony Semerad leads as NLEX completes comeback vs TNT in PBA On Tour


Anthony Semerad took charge as NLEX denied its sister team TNT a taste of another win as it came up with a 97-84 come-from-behind victory on Wednesday in the 2023 PBA On Tour at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

Against his former team, Semerad dropped 23 points highlighted by five triples to go along with three rebounds and one steal as the Road Warriors improved to 5-5 while the Tropang Giga slipped to 1-9.

Don Trollano churned out 16 markers, six boards, and seven assists off the bench as Clint Doliguez and Kevin Alas finished with 16 and 14 points apiece.

TNT led by as much as 22 points early in the second period with Carl Bryan Cruz drilling a jumper, 39-17. However, NLEX waxed hot from deep to fuel a 24-6 rampage to end the first half trailing by just four, 45-41.

NLEX even led by 20 after a Trollano triple in the 2:55 mark of the payoff period, 95-75, en route to the victory.

Cruz paced TNT with 26 points, seven rebounds, and two assists while Glenn Khobuntin continued his steady presence as he poured in 24 markers, 10 boards, and two dimes in the losing effort.

NLEX will face Barangay Ginebra on Sunday to cap off its campaign while TNT will look to close out its run on a high note when it takes on Blackwater on Sunday as well.
