Kieffer Alas drops 27 as Gilas Boys blast Malaysia to kick off SEABA campaign

Kieffer Alas showed the way as Gilas Pilipinas Boys ripped Malaysia by 42 points, 94-52, to kick off their FIBA U16 Asian Championship-SEABA Qualifiers campaign with a bang on Monday night in Indonesia.

The second-generation youngster dropped 27 points highlighted by perfect 4-for-4 shooting from the three-point area alongside seven rebounds and four assists in just 18 minutes of action.

CJ Amos, the younger brother of former Gilas player and Ateneo standout Mason Amos, chipped in with 16 markers to go with six boards, two dimes, and three steals while Irus Chua chimed in with 16 points as well off the bench.

Gilas will next face Thailand on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

They will need to win as many games as possible in the single round tournament as only two slots for the Asian championship set in September in Qatar are up for grabs.
