Arana, Wong power Converge past Barangay Ginebra in PBA On Tour
Justin Arana and Adrian Wong combined for 56 points in the Converge FiberXers' 123-95 victory against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the PBA On Tour on Sunday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
Arana posted 30 points and 15 rebounds, along with four assists, three blocks, and two steals, while Wong registered 26 points in Converge's fifth win in nine games.
The FiberXers started to pull away in the second half as it outscored Barangay Ginebra, 32-22, to end the third period at 84-69.
Converge's lead ballooned by as much as 31 points, 118-87, with less than two minutes left in the final frame before it dealt Barangay Ginebra its fifth loss in the off-season tournament.
Aside from Arana and Wong, Jeron Teng chipped in 18 points, while Mike Nieto and Kevin Racal had 17 and 13 points, respectively, for Converge.
Nards Pinto and Sidney Onwubere had 19 points apiece for Barangay Ginebra.
Earlier, the Terrafirma Dyip defeated the San Miguel Beermen, 85-72.
Terrafirma improved to 4-6, while San Miguel slid to 3-8.
PBA On Tour will resume on Wednesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig as Rain or Shine faces NorthPort, while Phoenix will go against TNT.
