Scottie Thompson suffers hand injury during Gilas Pilipinas practice in Lithuania

Scottie Thompson has suffered an injury during one of Gilas Pilipinas' practices in Lithuania as the national team continues its buildup there for the 2023 FIBA World Cup in August.

According to the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), the 29-year-old guard sustained a metacarpal fracture in his right hand and was brought immediately to a hospital for an x-ray.

He will undergo further assessment here in Manila once Gilas wraps up camp in Europe to determine the timeline of his return to the court.

Gilas had already played five tuneup games in Europe, two of which were in Estonia where the nationals fell to Estonia and Finland. They then won their two matches against Ukraine U-20 team before they absorbed a close loss to Lithuania on Tuesday night.
