Justin Brownlee shines as Gilas Pilipinas repeats over Ukraine U-20 in tuneup

Naturalized Filipino Justin Brownlee stamped his class as Gilas Pilipinas repeated over the Ukraine U-20 team, 84-74, in a tuneup game on Sunday night (Manila time) in Kaunas, Lithuania.

Brownlee scored 21 points alongside eight rebounds and one assist while CJ Perez chipped in 14 markers off the bench laced with four boards, four dimes, and two steals.

The win came just hours after the nationals pulled off a 70-61 victory on Saturday against the same team.

June Mar Fajardo also contributed with nine points, four rebounds, and two assists as Gilas continued to ramp up their preparations for the 2023 FIBA World Cup set to be hosted by the Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan from August 25 to september 10.

This marked Gilas' fourth game abroad before the global competition as it previously fell to Estonia and Finland.
