John Barba drops 30 to tow LPU past Adamson in Agusan del Sur tiff

John Barba dropped 30 points to tow Vincare Pharma-Lyceum of the Philippines University past Bustamante Construction-Adamson University, 86-83, in an invitational tournament in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur on Wednesday.

On top of Barba's 30-point explosion, Mclaude Guadaña had 15 points while Renzo Villegas chipped in 11 points in the Pirates' win against the Soaring Falcons.

Matty Erlon had 16 points, while Jerom Lastimosa had 15 points before going down with an apparent knee injury.

The win put LPU at 1-2, tied with the San Marcelino crew to face off in the battle for third of the local tourney.

Meanwhile, ARQ Builders-Far Eastern University will take on local selection Wingbe Apartelle & Adbio Medica OPC in the finals as the two teams emerged on top of the pool phase.

FEU on Wednesday defeated Adamson, 63-57, then fell to Wingbe Apartelle, 73-64.

FEU and Wingbe Apartelle finished the pool phase with identical 2-1 records to advance to the finals on Thursday.
