Jayson David delivers for Ginebra, hands Rain or Shine first loss in PBA On Tour

Jayson David played the hero for Barangay Ginebra San Miguel as his back-to-back baskets propelled them past the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 108-107, in the PBA On Tour on Sunday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Barangay Ginebra was trailing 107-103 with 1:39 left in the fourth period before David scored at the 00:28 mark to trim his squad's deficit to just one point.

Andrei Caracut missed his shot for Rain or Shine, while Jeremiah Gray grabbed the rebound which led to David having another basket which sealed the win for Ginebra. Nick Demusis tried to steal the win coming off a timeout but failed to do so as they registered their first loss in five games in the preseason tourney.

David registered six points, five rebounds, and two assists, while Gray posted 19 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists as Ginebra improved to 3-3. Von Pessumal had 29 points, while Aljon Mariano had 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Demusis and Gian Mamuyac had 16 points apiece while Caracut had 13 points, six assists, and two rebounds.

Earlier, the Blackwater Bossing held off the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, 92-90. Troy Rosario posted 24 points in the win which improved the Bossing's record to 4-3. Phoenix, meanwhile, slid to 3-4.

PBA On Tour action will return on Wednesday at the same venue as TNT takes on Meralco, while NLEX goes against San Miguel Beer.
