Rookie Shawn Argente stars vs San Beda as JRU extends streak to three

Rookie Shawn Argente presided as the surging Jose Rizal University pulled off another stunner, this time against San Beda University, 80-72, to stretch their winning streak to three in the 2023 Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup on Wednesday.

Argente dropped 18 points in 23 minutes of action, alongside a pair of assists, as the Heavy Bombers improved to a 4-4 win-loss card, while the seven-man Red Lions slid to 3-6.

Both teams have already bowed out of contention from the tourney.

Ry Dela Rosa helped the cause with 14 points, six rebounds, and an assist, while Patrick Ramos chipped in 10 markers, four dimes, and two boards.

Previously, JRU pulled off an 81-68 victory against De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde before defeating Mapua University, 93-84, on Tuesday.

JRU will look to make it four wins in a row when it takes on the winless Arellano University on Friday for its final game in the preseason contest.
