Lyceum makes it four wins in a row in FilOil tilt after rout of EAC

Surging Lyceum of the Philippines University routed fellow NCAA team Emilio Aguinaldo College, 102-78, to pick up its fourth win in a row in the 2023 FilOil EcoOil Preseason Cup on Wednesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

It was a wire-to-wire triumph for the Pirates as they led by 11 at the half, 53-42, before a third quarter rampage saw the wards of head coach Gilbert Malabanan pull away and build an 87-56 cushion at the end of the third.

Lyceum dropped 34 points in that third alone while limiting the Generals to just 14.

Jearolan Omandac detonated for 31 points alongside five rebounds, four assists, and three steals as Lyceum improved to 5-2 while EAC slid to 2-4.

Veteran guard Enoch Valdez, John Barba, and Renz Villegas, who were all part of Lyceum's Final Four appearance in the NCAA Season 98, all chipped in 11 markers.

EAC, which dropped its second straight game, was led by Brianne Angeles who registered 11 points while veterans JP Maguliano and King Gurtiza each finished with 10.
