The first NBA Community Court in the Philippines

NBA Philippines on Friday opened its first community court in the Philippines at the Reyes Gym in Mandaluyong City.

The NBA Community Court has an indoor basketball court that will host basketball programs throughout the year as part of the league's efforts in promoting grassroots basketball. NBA Philippines said the court will host programs such as the Jr. NBA and "Her Time to Play" events which focus on women's basketball.

“We are proud to introduce the first-ever NBA Community Court in the Philippines, which reflects the NBA’s mission to inspire and connect people everywhere through the power of basketball,” Mae Dichupa,  NBA Philippines Senior Director, Global Marketing Partnerships, said in a statement.

As part of the launch, Jr. NBA participants tested out the new court in an exhibition drill.

The Community Court was made in partnership with basketball lifestyle brand Titan.

Starting Saturday, the Community Court will be open from 6 am to 11 pm. It will also dedicate NBA Community Hours, a time where fans can use the facility for free, from 6 am to 8 am and 2 pm to 6 pm on weekdays, and 6 am to 10 am on weekends. Fans and players can book a maximum of two NBA Community Hours per day and reserve from the available time slots up to one week in advance through the Reyes Gym. Users and spectators will also need an NBA ID, the league’s global membership program for fans and partners, to enter the court.
