Gilas Women settle for 3x3 silver after falling short in finals against Vietnam

The Philippine national women's basketball team fell short against Vietnam, 21-16, in the final match of the women's 3x3 basketball event on Sunday in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.

Gilas Women trailed, 16-15, with 1:28 left before the Vietnamese controlled the endgame to clinch the gold medal.

Prior to the final, the squad composed of Jack Animam, Afril Bernardino, Janine Pontejos, and Mikka Cacho defeated Cambodia in the semifinals, 21-20.

The Philippines missed the podium in the last edition of the biennial meet. They won the gold medal back in 2019.
