With Ross as captain, Brownlee-reinforced Gilas Pilipinas to start SEA Games redemption bid

Justin Brownlee will reinforce the Philippine national men's basketball team as Chris Ross takes on the captain role for the squad for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.

Joining Ross and Brownlee as part of Gilas Pilipinas are Christian Standhardinger, Chris Newsome, Calvin Oftana, Michael Phillips, Jerom Lastimosa, Mason Amos, CJ Perez, Marcio Lassiter, and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, in the list released by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas on Sunday.

Aaron Black and Ben Phillips were the last two who were cut from the 14-man pool.

Gilas will start their redemption journey to the gold medal on Tuesday as they play Malaysia in their first preliminary match.
