NBA Store opens second and biggest branch in the Philippines
Another NBA Store has opened in the Philippines, this time at the SM Mall of Asia.
It's the biggest NBA Store branch in the country, measuring 531.34 square meters. It's also the second physical store opened after the lockdowns following the first in SM Megamall last year.
NBA Asia Head of Global Merchandising Lesley Rulloda and Titan Managing Director Mike Ignacio graced the branch's opening on Thursday.
The store has a "Jersey Hall" that has a collection of different designs of NBA jerseys, the hyperlocal section which caters to its products designed for the Philippine market, and a "Hardwood Classics" area which has a collection of the NBA's classic designs.
A gaming area where visitors can also play NBA 2K is available in the store, and a viewing area where fans can watch the games are also part of the store's main attractions. A mural especially commissioned for the said store is also on display.
Merchandise for kids and women and other NBA memorabilias are also seen in the NBA Store.
Rulloda said the different attractions in the NBA Store is a way of providing the NBA experience to fans who would not be able to watch the games live.
"How do you engage with the brand other than through product is by watching the game, talking with other fans, bantering about your favorite teams and players and being able to provide our fans that experience only helps our overall fandom for the brand as well," said Rulloda.
The NBA Asia official also said they are open to exploring having another branch in the country after taking into consideration the lessons that they will learn from their newest store.
