Dirk Nowitzki gets all the love from Filipino fans in visit for FIBA World Cup Draw


Basketball legend Dirk Nowitzki sure received all the love from fans in the Philippines during his visit to Manila for the 2023 FIBA World Cup Draw.

Nowitzki arrived in Manila on Thursday and joined the draw on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

"It's been amazing," said Nowitzki during the draw. "The last few days have been a super warm welcome. It's been busy but super good to see so many NBA fans. The knowledge of the game here is incredible so thank you guys for all the support."

Prior to the draw, Nowitzki even interacted with fans outside of the Big Dome, as seen in a video posted on the World Cup's Instagram account.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During the draw, the Philippines was selected with Italy, Dominican Republic, and Angola in Group A of the World Cup group phase.

The group phases of the World Cup will be hosted by the country's Philippine Arena, Araneta Coliseum, and Mall of Asia Arena, Japan's Okinawa Arena, and Indonesia's Indonesia Arena, with the tipoff scheduled on August 25.
