LA Tenorio doing well in recovery from colon cancer

Barangay Ginebra veteran and FIBA World Cup local ambassador LA Tenorio said he is doing well as he recovers from colon cancer.

"My recovery, so far so good. So far okay naman," Tenorio told reporters on Tuesday in the partnership announcement of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas and the San Miguel Corporation for the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

("My recovery, so far so good. So far, it's going okay.")

Tenorio on March announced that he was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer.

But despite his condition, he himself will have his own sacrifice as well as he was tapped as one of the FIBA World Cup local ambassadors.

Tenorio said seeing the training pool and the sacrifice they also give for the Gilas Pilipinas program also motivates him to get better.

"Seeing these young guys playing and sacrificing everything they've got, everyday in practice, doon pa lang namo-motivate na ako, especially with my condition right now, doon pa lang namomotivate ako to get better and get back on the court," said Tenorio.

"Katulad ng sinabi ko kanina, same as my journey, it's not gonna be easy pero maganda 'yung may goal ka eh. With that sacrifice and with that journey na ginagawa mo with all that sacrifices, i'm pretty sure, 100%, it will pay off," he added.
