Kevin Belingon gets promoted to BJJ blue belt

Former ONE bantamweight world champion Kevin Belingon has been promoted to Brazilian jiu-jitsu blue belt.

Belingon, 20-10 as a professional mixed martial arts fighter, was given a promotion by Baguio City’s lone black belt Gibran Langbayan.

“I was surprised. I went there to train as usual and then was called to the center after training,” Belingon said.

“I am happy because I worked hard for this and I will continue training to get better in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.”

Belingon, 35, made headlines last month when he departed his longtime stable Team Lakay along with the likes of former world champions Eduard Folayang, Joshua Pacio, and Honorio Banario.
