TNT moves on cusp of PBA Finals after Game 3 win vs Meralco
TNT inched closer to another finals appearance after carving out a 99-80 Game Three victory against Meralco in their semifinals clash of the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup on Wednesday.
TNT took a 2-1 series lead and will now look to finish off the Bolts on Friday for the right to face Barangay Ginebra in the championship stage.
Meralco could not put a stop to TNT's one-two punch of Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Mikey Williams. Hollis-Jefferson, who currently leads the Best Import race, erupted for 40 points on top of 13 rebounds, two assists, and one steal while Williams led the locals with 29 points highlighted by six triples alongside three dimes.
KJ Mcdaniels dropped 30 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks but those weren’t enough as the Bolts could not continue on the momentum after securing Game Two last weekend.
TNT is eyeing to book the last finals ticket in bid to dethrone two-time defending champion Ginebra.
