La Salle Green Hills' Ethan Alian commits to DLSU

College of Saint Benilde-La Salle Green Hills star Ethan Alian has found his collegiate home after he gave his commitment to De La Salle University in the UAAP.

Alian was among the key players who steered the Greenies to a bridesmaid finish in the recently-concluded NCAA Season 98 juniors basketball tournament.

“For me, it's a dream come true kasi yung pagiging Lasallian ko kasi since Grade 6 nandun na ako," said Alian.

"’Yung community po doon, Coach Topex, the managers, and my teammates, I feel will be good for my development not just as a player but also as a student."

("For me, it's a dream come true because I've been a Lasallian since Grade 6 and I'm already there... The community there, Coach Topex, the managers, and my teammates, I feel will be good for my development not just as a player but also as a student.")

The 18-year-old 6-foot-1 Alian averaged 12.08 points, 5.92 rebounds, 4.31 assists, and 1.62 steals for LSGH, who fell to Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the championship round.

“He is a guy who is willing to sacrifice the limelight for the success of his teammates,” said DLSU head coach Topex Robinson of Alian.

“If you are looking for a player who is willing to give his power away for the good of others, that's Ethan. That is the value he brings that impressed me the most.”

Alian will join De La Salle Zobel forward Rhyle Melencio as well as Lyceum of the Philippines’ Mythical Five member Matthew Rubico as part of the Green Archers' recruitment class.
