Basketball community rallies behind LA Tenorio in battle with colon cancer

Barangay Ginebra star LA Tenorio has the basketball community firmly behind him in perhaps the biggest battle of his life.

Several players took to social media to express their support for the PBA's Ironman as Tenorio revealed on Tuesday he was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer.

"Dasal lang 'tol kaya yan! Ikaw pa lakas mo na tao kaya ka nga #ironman eh dito lang kami tol madami nagmamahal sa 'yo at nag dadasal," Tenorio's Gilas teammate Marc Pingris wrote on Instagram.

("Just pray, brother! You can do it! You are a strong person, that's why you are the Ironman. We're just here loving and praying for you!")

Ginebra teammate Jared Dilinger also shared his message.

"Sending prayers and good vibrations to our beloved Ironman, @LA_Tenorio," Dilinger wrote.

TNT's Matt Ganuelas-Rosser and San Miguel's Chris Ross also said they are sending their prayers to Tenorio.

Former Philippine Sports Commission chairman and ex-PBA commissioner Noli Eala also hopes for Tenorio's full recovery.

"Remember God does not give us any burdens that we cannot carry," he wrote in his tweet.

Tenorio, who is considered as the league's Ironman after playing for 744 consecutive games, also said he will undergo treatment in the next few months after completing his surgery last week.
