San Miguel books semis slot with rout of Converge


The San Miguel Beermen booked a slot in the 2023 PBA Governors' Cup semifinals after a 121-105 rout of the Converge FiberXers in the tournament's quarterfinals on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Cameron Clark registered a double-double of 40 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists, to lead the Beermen to a semis slot. CJ Perez had 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Vic Manuel and Jericho Cruz had 20 and 12 points each.

The win spoiled the debut of new Converge import Tom Vodanovich who posted 39 points and 10 rebounds. Maverick Ahanmisi was a rebound shy from a double-double after tallying 18 points and nine rebounds.

The Beermen will now have to wait for the winner of the other bracket which will feature twice-to-beat no. 3 seed Barangay Ginebra taking on no. 6 NLEX for its opponent in the best-of-five semis.
