FEU-Diliman dethrones NU Nazareth, will face Adamson in UAAP boys basketball finals
Far Eastern University-Diliman dethroned National University Nazareth School, 71-65, in the do-or-die Final Four match of the UAAP Season 85 high school boys basketball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Centre on Friday.
Kirby Mongcopa posted 15 points and 16 rebounds for the Baby Tamaraws, while Jedric Daa added 15 of his own to hand the Diliman-based squad a ticket to the championship round.
Reinhard Jumamoy tallied 19 markers and 11 rebounds for the NU team which will not enter the finals after nine consecutive appearances.
The Baby Tamaraws entered the Final Four as the second seeded team, but lost to NU on Tuesday, 93-82, behind Reinhard Jumanoy's 30-point explosion.
FEU-Diliman will face the Adamson University Baby Falcons, who will have their first Finals appearance since 2003, in the Finals with Game 1 set on Tuesday at the same venue.
