Barangay Ginebra San Miguel officially clinched the twice-to-beat bonus in the quarterfinals after escaping the Terrafirma Dyip, 109-104, on Wednesday in the 2023 PBA Governors' Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Leading by just a single point with 1:20 left in the fourth quarter, Justin Brownlee had a layup to extend their lead, 107-104. A Jamie Malonzo slam with 13 ticks left sealed the deal for the defending champs.
Brownlee tallied 38 markers for Ginebra, while Christian Standhardinger registered 23 points and 12 rebounds. Malonzo posted 16 points and 13 boards, while Scottie Thompson had 13 points to improve Ginebra's record to 8-2.
Terrafirma import Jordan Williams had 35 points and 10 rebounds, while Juami Tiongson led the Dyip's locals with 18 points and end their Governors' Cup campaign with two wins and nine losses.
Ginebra will cap the elimination round on Friday when they play TNT wich also has a twice-to-beat bonus.
