Pinoy import Kobe Paras, Altiri Chiba part ways in mutual agreement

Filipino import Kobe Paras and Japan Basketball League Division 2 (B2) ball club Altiri Chiba have mutually decided to part ways, the league announced on Friday.

The 25-year-old Paras has played in 33 games for the Japanese team, averaging 5.3 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game as Altiri currently sits at the third spot with a 32-11 win-loss card.

"I want to say thank you to the Altiri Chiba fans, club sponsors, and all the loyal fans! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to represent such a beautiful club and city, Chiba," Paras said.

"I’m also very happy that I got to meet a lot of amazing people in this team which include the team managers, my teammates, coaching staff, owner, GM, and head coach."

"Good luck with the rest of the season! Wishing you all more success."

Paras joined Altiri in June 2022 after a stint with Division 1 team Niigata Albirex BB, which he helped steer to a 7-45 record in the previous season.
