Pogoy drops 40, debuting Hollis-Jefferson scores 37 as TNT rips Blackwater

RR Pogoy and new import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson proved to be too much as TNT crushed Blackwater by 22, 138-116, to cruise to their fourth straight win in the 2023 PBA Governors' Cup on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Pogoy dropped 40 points on 61-percent shooting from the field alongside nine rebounds, one assist, and one steal while Hollis-Jefferson, who replaced Jalen Hudson, proved his worth with 37 markers, 13 boards, seven dimes, and two blocks.

TNT improved to 6-1 to claim the top spot while Blackwater remained luckless as it absorbed its fifth consecutive losses to go 1-6.

Reinforcement Troy Williams and Jvee Casio were the bright spots for Blackwater with the former collecting 22 points, eight rebounds, six assists, one steal, and block while Casio led the locals with 21 markers.

The Jojo Lastimosa-helmed TNT will take on sister team Meralco on Friday while the Bossing are up for a tall task as they face Ginebra on Sunday.
