Kai Sotto brings his act to Japan B.League, signs with Hiroshima
Kai Sotto will continue to strut his stuff abroad, this time in Japan, as he inked a deal with the Hiroshima Dragonflies in the Japan Basketball League, the team announced on Tuesday.
The development came just days after the 20-year-old bruiser parted ways with the Adelaide 36ers in the National Basketball League in Australia, where he suited up for two seasons.
"I am looking forward to playing with the Hiroshima Dragonflies. I will do my best to make the season of the Dragonflies, which aims to win the B.League, a great one. I am grateful to the president and GM for giving me this opportunity. I am looking forward to meeting my teammates, staff and of course the fans," Sotto said in a statement released by the team.
Sotto's arrival will definitely be a big boost to the Dragonflies, who are currently in the fourth spot in the league with a 27-9 win-loss card.
"He has a very high basketball IQ, can move quickly, and is good at running, so I am confident that he will be a good match for Hiroshima's defense and offense," said general manager Shuji Okazaki.
Sotto averaged 6.82 points, 4.48 rebounds, 0.44 assist, and 0.11 steals in the 2022-2023 NBL season.
