Jordan Clarkson believes he is 'All-Star' caliber, but focused more on winning for Utah Jazz
Utah Jazz star Jordan Clarkson believes he is playing at the caliber of an All-Star player, but his focus currently lies more on winning for his team.
Clarkson said this in a media availability on January 13, almost a week before the NBA All-Star voting ends on January 21 (US Eastern Time).
"I think I'm playing at an All-Star caliber," Clarkson said. "I think I have been playing at a high level. I know in the West they got a lot of talented guards but I think I could represent Utah, and the Philippines even, at the All-Star even if it happens."
While Clarkson said he would be excited if he would be part of the All-Star weekend, he is more concerned about getting wins for the Jazz.
"I definitely would be grateful and will be excited if that happens," said Clarkson. "Right now, [I'm] not concentrating too much on that. I'm concentrating on getting these wins and trying to keep propelling this team to the top of the West."
In the recent fan returns released by the league on January 20, Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, Ja Morant, Shai Gilgeous Alexander, and Klay Thompson composed the top five of the results of the guards in the West.
Fans account for 50% of the vote, while NBA players and the media constitute the other half.
The All-Star Weekend will be hosted by the Jazz and be held in Salt Lake City on February 19.
