Ysa Jimenez has opted not to play her final year with University of Santo Tomas in the UAAP as she decided to turn professional.
The 5-foot-9 spiker has signed with PLDT, opening a new chapter in her young volleyball career. The team announced the development on Wednesday.
Jimenez' signing came just a day after the High Speed Hitters let go of three key players in Eli Soyud, Toni Rose Basas, and Heather Guino-o. It's also the first acquisition of the team since naming Rald Ricafort as its new head coach.
Jimenez was part of the UST team that reached the UAAP Season 81 Finals, where the Tigresses eventually fell to Ateneo de Manila University in three games.
