Carl Tamayo is heading to the Ryukyu Golden Kings in the Japan B.League.
The team made the announcement on Wednesday, a day after the former University of the Philippines standout announced his big move to Japan.
Tamayo will be part of the league's Asian quota system.
"I am honored and very excited to be part of this great organization, Ryukyu Golden Kings," Tamayo said.

"Can't wait to play with you guys. See you soon!"
Tamayo played for two seasons in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines where the Diliman-based squad had two finals appearances and an historic championship in Season 84.
Tamayo will join the likes of other Filipino imports playing in Japan such as Thirdy and Kiefer Ravena, Dwight Ramos, Ray Parks, Matthew Wright, Kobe Paras, Roosevelt Adams, Jordan Heading, Greg Slaughter, and Jay Washington.
