Scottie Thompson, Justin Brownlee cop top individual awards in PBA Commissioner's Cup

Barangay Ginebra stars Scottie Thompson and Justin Brownlee copped the top individual awards in the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Thompson bagged the Best Player of the Conference award and bested the likes of teammate Jamie Malonzo, NorthPort Batang Pier's Robert Bolick, San Miguel's CJ Perez, and NLEX's Don Trollano. The reigning MVP tallied a total of 917 points to take the award. This is Thompson's second BPC plum after getting one in the 2021 Governor's Cup.

Meanwhile, Brownlee was named as the Best Import of the Conference and bested the Magnolia Hotshots' Nick Rakocevic and Devon Scott of San Miguel. The Ginebra import topped the race with 1289 points. This is Brownlee's third Best Import award following his plum in the 2018 Commissioner's Cup and 2021 Governor's Cup.

The two were recognized before Game 4 of the best-of-seven finals which Ginebra leads, 2-1.

The individual awards were computer based on statistical points and votes from the players and members of the press.
