Bay Area on the verge of dethroning San Miguel after Game Two win

Bay Area moved to within a win of the championship round after a dominant 114-95 win over San Miguel in Game 2 of their best-of-five semifinals affair in the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday. 

With the victory, the Dragons are on the cusp of dethroning the reigning champions, the Beermen. 

It was a wire-to-wire win for the guest club, leading by as many as 21 late in the fourth after a slam from Zheng Qilong, 112-91, with 1:43 left and they never looked back since then. 

Import Andrew Nicholson led the charge for the Dragons with a huge double-double of 34 points, 16 rebounds, and two steals while Kobey Lam, the hero in Game 1, finished with 25 markers, five boards, and four assists. 

June Mar Fajardo poured it all in with 35 points, 10 rebounds, and one block but the Beermen could not get the job done in head coach Leo Austria's return. 

Bay Area, which finished the elimination round atop the standings with a 10-2 card, will look to finish off San Miguel on Sunday in Game Three of the series.
