De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde's Jimboy Pasturan and Taine Davis filed a physical injuries complaint against Jose Rizal University's John Amores on Friday morning.
Pasturan and Davis, who were both punched by Amores after the Heavy Bomber charged their bench with 3:22 left in their game last Tuesday, filed the complaint before the San Juan Prosecutor's Office.
Benilde coach Charles Tiu, who served as witness for the complaint, said the team is ready to move on from the incident, but stressed they will still take the proper course of action.
"For us, it's just really an unfortunate incident that we felt really could have been avoided if they were able to keep emotions a little bit in check. We felt it's a game won for us," said Tiu.
"Tapos na sana and none of this should have happened, and we have guys punched. I guess that's part of life, part of basketball, and I'm just thankful that none other guys got hurt right now."
"As disappointing as it is, we asked the team to just learn to forgive for whatever happened but we're still gonna take the right actions that need to be done."
Tiu said they will try to shift their focus now on just playing basketball, especially now that the Taft crew is on the hunt of booking one of the four playoffs spots in the NCAA Season 98.
Benilde is currently facing University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.
"I told the team to just focus on basketball. We leave it up to the higher-ups, the lawyers, the school officials," he said.
"Kami, we'll just go back to playing basketball cause that's what we're here to do and hopefully no other incident like this happens."
