Thirdy Ravena cut from Gilas Pilipinas lineup vs. Jordan in World Cup qualifiers

Gilas Pilipinas will play Jordan in the fifth window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers, but without one of its key players Thirdy Ravena.

Ravena was cut from the national team's roster released on Thursday.

Kai Sotto headlines the team, while Ravena's fellow Japan B.League players Ray Parks and Dwight Ramos made it to the lineup, along with PBA Most Valuable Player Scottie Thompson.

PBA players RR Pogoy, Calvin Oftana, Jamie Malonzo, Poy Erram, CJ Perez, and Japeth Aguilar were also included in the 12-man team, along with collegiate standouts Ange Kouame and Kevin Quiambao.

Gilas, which has three wins and losses in the qualifiers, will face on Friday midnight a hungry Jordan national team who has not qualified yet in any edition of the global tourney.

The Philippines is already assured of a slot in the World Cup as one of the hosts of the tournament, along with Japan and Indonesia.
