John Amores was suspended indefinitely for his actions during the game between Jose Rizal University and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in the NCAA Season 98 men's basketball tournament on Tuesday.

Fr. Vic Calvo OP, the NCAA Management Committee (ManCom) representative of Colegio de San Juan de Letran, announced this on Wednesday.

According to a ManCom statement read by Calvo, Amores was suspended for the following acts: intentionally bumping the referee, pointing a finger at the referee, disrespecting the ManCom representative, disrespecting court officials, charging towards the bench of CSB, instigating a brawl, making provocative gestures meant to ignite a fight or brawl, and throwing punches against four Benilde players.

"Violence has no place in the NCAA. The ManCom condemns and will not tolerate any acts of violence that will endanger our athletes, participants, officials, supporters and the public. The safety of everyone is our primordial concern," read the statement signed by NCAA chairman Estefanio Boquiron.

According to Calvo, the penalties imposed were in accordance with the NCAA manual of operations.

Several other players from both sides were suspended as well.
