Bryan Sajonia's role in FEU wins earns him Collegiate Press Corps UAAP Player of the Week

Far Eastern University had a pretty rocky start in UAAP Season 85, but ended the first round with its first two wins to breathe life in its Final Four campaign.

The Tamaraws defeated University of Santo Tomas, 75-60, before pulling off an upset against National University, 47-44.

Leading the Morayta-based squad in their past two outings was Bryan Sajonia who had 23 points against UST, and 12 points as FEU's lone double digit scorer during their win against NU.

Sajonia's averages of 17.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in less than 26 minutes of play proved to be enough to earn him the Collegiate Press Corps UAAP Player of the Week honors presented by San Miguel Corporation and the Philippine Sports Commission.

“Masaya kami dahil nakuha namin ang first win namin. Malaking epekto sa amin ang FEU community na sumusuporta sa amin. Masaya kami, siguro para sa amin, nakuha na namin ang break namin sa mga upcoming games pa,” Sajonia said.

Sajonia bested Adamson University's Jerom Lastimosa, Ateneo de Manila's Dave Ildefonso, University of the Philippines' Carl Tamayo, and NU's Steve Nash Enriquez in the weekly award deliberated upon by print and online media regularly covering the league. The recognition is also backed by minor sponsors MNL Kingpin, Tinapayan Festival and Jockey.
