Lee, Abueva lead Magnolia to comeback win vs TNT for 3-0 start

Paul Lee and Calvin Abueva joined forces to lead Magnolia to a 94-92 comeback victory against TNT in the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

Tied at 92-all, Lee was fouled on his jumper attempt to complete two free throws as the Hotshots took a slim two-point lead, 94-92, with four seconds left.

Magnolia trailed by as many as 13, 60-47, early in the third period before the Hotshots outscored the Tropang Giga in the payoff period, 32 to 19.

Calvin Abueva starred with 25 markers, nine boards, three dimes, and two steals while Lee finished with 16 points, four rebounds, three assists, and one steal as Magnolia improved to 3-0.

Import Nicholas Rakocevic chipped in a double-double outing of 22 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.

TNT opened its campaign with a 0-1 card as Cameron Oliver's 43-point, 17-rebound outing went for naught.

RR Pogoy chimed in with 23 markers, five boards, two assists, and three steals as Calvin Oftana debuted with 12 points and seven rebounds.
