Castro powers TNT past SMB in Game 4 to even PBA Finals series
Jayson Castro powered the TNT Tropang Giga past the San Miguel Beermen, 100-87, in Game 4 of the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup finals on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Castro tallied 26 points, six rebounds, and four assists for TNT in the series-tying game.
TNT led by 18, 34-16, before the Beermen reclaimed the lead, 52-51, at the 6:23 mark of the third period. The Tropang Giga then rallied and led by as much as 16, 89-73, in the fourth period before eventually taking the win.
The game also marked Chot Reyes' return to the team after missing Games 2 and 3 due to Gilas Pilipinas duties.
RR Pogoy tallied 21 markers while Mikey Williams and Kelly Williams added 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Newly-minted Best Player of the Conference June Mar Fajardo had 20 points and 19 rebounds, while Simon Enciso and Marcio Lassiter made 15 and 14 points, respectively. CJ Perez and Mo Tautuaa contributed 13 points each in the SMB loss.
Game 5 of the series will be played on Wednesday.
