Juan Gomez de Liaño is 2022 PBA D-League MVP

Juan Gomez de Liaño of the Marinerong Pilipino Skippers is the Most Valuable Player of the 2022 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup.

The recognition was given to De Liaño on Wednesday before Game 2 of the tournament finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

After the semifinals, De Liaño topped the MVP race with 18.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game to get an average statistical points of 37.2.

The former UP standout and Filipino import bested the likes of teammate Jollo Go, EcoOil-La Salle's Michael Phillips and CJ Austria, Adalem-St. Clare's Johnsherick Estrada and John Edcel Rojas, and Apex-San Sebastian's Rommel Calahat and James Una.

The Skippers are a win away from the tournament title after winning Game 1 on Sunday. Marinerong Pilipino are playing EcoOil-La Salle for the title as of posting time.
