FEU charges late vs UP to punch last ticket to Filoil semis

Far Eastern University punched the last ticket to the Filoil EcoOil 15th Preseason Cup semifinals at the expense of the University of the Philippines, 72-63, in the tournament's quarterfinals on Tuesday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

The Tamaraws rallied late in the game and limited UP, playing sans Carl Tamayo, to just four points against their 11 point-output after leading by 61-59 with 2:19 left in the fourth period.

Bryan Sajonia tallied 16 markers, 5 boards, and 5 assists, while LJay Gonzales registered a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Royce Alforque chipped in 13 points, while Patrick Tchuente flirted with a double-double with 11 points and 8 rebounds,

Bismarck Lina had 13 points, while Malick Diouf had 12 points and 12 rebounds in the UP loss.

The Tamaraws will play against De La Salle University in the semifinals on Thursday.
