Jielo Razon's game-winning triple lifts Perpetual past EAC in preseason tilt

Jielo Razon drilled the game-winning triple—his lone field goal in the game—to steer University of Perpetual Help System DALTA past Emilio Aguinaldo College, 66-63, in the FilOil EcoOil Preseason Cup on Wednesday in San Juan.

After going cold on offense all game long, the 23-year-old guard drained a crucial three-pointer from near the halfcourt mark over the defense of Ralph Robin, giving the Altas a 63-66 spread with 0.8 seconds left in the game.

The Generals were still able to draw up a game plan after calling for a timeout but they failed to even go up for an attempt.

Razon, who played a key role in Perpetual's recent campaign in NCAA Season 97, finished with three points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in over 30 minutes of action.

Marcus Nitura led the Altas with a double-double of 17 markers, 10 boards, and two steals as Perpetual finally barged into the win column with a 1-1 card in Group A. EAC, who recently scored a win over University of the East, dropped to an identical 1-1 slate.

Robin starred for EAC with a 23-point outing while big man Allen Liwag chipped in 12 markers and nine rebounds in the loss.
